Glion Institute of Higher Education Appoints Frédéric Picard as Managing Director

Glion Institute of Higher Education (GIHE) has announced the appointment of Frédéric Picard as its new Managing Director. Frédéric brings a wealth of experience from the luxury hotel industry, both in Europe and internationally, to his new role.

Frédéric’s career in the hospitality sector spans several renowned hotel groups, including Le Méridien Bangkok, Intercontinental Paris, Jumeirah Dubaï, Kerzner International Morocco, Oetker Collection, and La Réserve Paris. Throughout his career, Frédéric has been involved in the opening of seven hotels worldwide, contributing to his development of strong managerial leadership skills.

The hotels under Frédéric’s management have received accolades from the industry and international press, emphasizing his commitment to excellence. Notably, La Réserve Paris achieved the prestigious “Palace” certification, the highest distinction for hotels, within just 18 months of its opening. Additionally, the hotel earned two Michelin stars.

With his extensive expertise, Frédéric established his own consulting company specializing in hotel projects. He co-founded the Maisons Pariente hotel group, which garnered recognition from the international press. Frédéric’s professional acumen and global vision have also earned the trust of private investors, including Ultra High Net Worth Individuals, who sought his guidance for hotel projects in Gstaad, Saint Moritz, Florence, Girona, Porto, and various locations in France.

Frédéric’s influence extends beyond hotel management. He served as a special advisor for a government project in the Middle East involving the development of 2,700 hotel rooms and 1,300 luxury residences, with a total investment of three billion dollars.

In addition to his accomplishments, Frédéric is a member of “the Club des Dirigeants de l’Hôtellerie Internationale et de prestige” (Club of International and Prestigious Hotel Executives) and contributes to the drafting committee for the prestigious MOF “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” award, which recognizes the best workers in their respective categories.
