Weston Park Launches ‘Forty Days of Play’ Summer Series with Bovis Homes Partnership
Weston Park has launched its ‘Forty Days of Play’ summer programme, backed by UK housebuilder Bovis Homes as the official event partner. The historic estate, located on the Shropshire-Staffordshire border, will host six weeks of family-focused activities throughout the summer holidays.
The initiative forms part of the Weston Park Foundation’s 40th anniversary celebrations, transforming the 1,000-acre site into an expansive outdoor playground. The programme features a variety of events including hands-on crafts, outdoor games, woodland adventures, weekly storytelling sessions, and creative workshops.
Kicking off the festivities is the introduction of an exclusive interactive Elmer and Friends Hide and Seek Adventure Trail. This augmented reality experience is designed for children and adults alike, encouraging exploration and engagement with the park’s natural surroundings.
Rebecca Alexander, Head of Estates and Operations at Weston Park, highlighted the shared values between the foundation and Bovis Homes. She said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Bovis Homes as our partner for Forty Days of Play. Summer at Weston is all about inspiring children to get outside, discover new experiences and spend quality time together as a family.”
Alexander added: “Working with Bovis Homes enables us to enhance the programme and ensure even more families can enjoy everything Weston Park has to offer this summer.”
Bovis Homes, known for developing new 2, 3, and 4-bedroom houses at ‘The Rambles’ in Telford, emphasises family life and community in its projects. Joanne Bradbury, Sales and Marketing Director at Bovis Homes, commented on the partnership: “We are proud to be partnering with Weston Park on Forty Days of Play. Creating places where families can thrive extends beyond building homes – it’s about supporting the communities around us and encouraging children to enjoy healthy, active lifestyles.”
Bradbury continued: “We’re delighted to be helping create memorable experiences for families visiting Weston Park this summer.”
In addition to the summer programme, Weston Park will host a special Weston at 40 Summer Celebration over the bank holiday weekend on August 30 and 31.
The Forty Days of Play events are included with standard Park and Gardens admission unless otherwise noted. Visitors can also enjoy Weston Park’s extensive parkland, adventure playground, miniature railway, and family-friendly trails during their visit.
