Kinaxia Logistics, a prominent UK logistics group, has recently inked a five-year contract with ArrowXL, a specialist in two-person home delivery services. The agreement encompasses all domestic linehaul and trunking services, further strengthening the existing partnership between the two companies.

ArrowXL, headquartered in Wigan with additional sites in Worcester, Airdrie, Carrickfergus, and Enfield, handles over two million customer orders annually for retailers, e-commerce companies, and manufacturers. Their deliveries include a wide range of items such as domestic appliances, furniture, sofas, beds, mattresses, and garden products.

Under the expanded arrangement, Mark Thompson Transport, a Kinaxia group company within its primary sector division, will assume full responsibility for all domestic linehaul and trunking services. Since 2019, Mark Thompson Transport has been providing a significant portion of ArrowXL’s trailer-based client collections, returns, and carousel movements.

With operating centers and dedicated drivers already based at ArrowXL’s hubs in Wigan and Worcester, Mark Thompson Transport will establish new centers in Enfield and Airdrie, while also providing the necessary units and trailers to fulfill the contract.

As part of the agreement, 14 drivers currently employed by ArrowXL will transfer to Mark Thompson Transport under TUPE regulations, and additional drivers will be recruited to support the expanded operations.

Richard Smith, managing director of Kinaxia’s primary sector business, expressed his excitement about extending the relationship with ArrowXL and welcoming new drivers to the Kinaxia family. He stated, “This five-year contract is the result of a lot of hard work by the ArrowXL and Mark Thompson Transport teams and is a reflection of the service that we have been providing over the last four years. We are now able to build on this joint success and further cement our partnership. At the same time, the arrangement reinforces our nationwide capabilities in the primary sector and creates growth opportunities across a wide area of the UK as well as enabling us to offer more flexibility to our existing customers.”

Charlie Shiels, CEO of ArrowXL, described the decision as a natural extension of their current arrangements, highlighting the strong synergy and shared commitment to customer service between the two companies. Shiels emphasized that the enhanced collaboration would lead to more innovative solutions and improved capabilities, benefiting their clients with enhanced first-mile operations and higher levels of service excellence.

Kinaxia Logistics, based in Macclesfield, Cheshire, is a top 15 UK logistics group with over 1,600 employees nationwide and a fleet of more than 850 vehicles. The company provides transportation services for various sectors, including retail, leisure, food and drink, and manufacturing.
