Mindful Drinking Trends: Non-Alcoholic Beverages Gain Popularity During Festive Season
New survey reveals a growing trend towards mindful drinking, with 87% believing non-alcoholic beverages can be as fun and festive as traditional drinks.
As the festive season begins, consumers are embracing a more mindful approach to celebrations, prioritizing healthier choices over indulgence. A recent survey conducted by Holos Kombucha revealed that 84% of respondents are actively reducing their alcohol consumption this Christmas. The motivation for this shift lies in a desire to improve overall health (72.5%), boost energy levels (43.5%), and avoid the dreaded holiday hangover (23.2%). These findings highlight how wellness and mindfulness are influencing the way people celebrate, with more individuals seeking alternatives that align with their personal values and goals.
When it comes to non-alcoholic beverages, health benefits and taste emerge as the primary drivers for consumer choices. Over 58% of respondents prioritize drinks that support their health—whether through immunity-boosting ingredients, gut health support, or energy enhancement. Taste follows closely behind, with 46% noting it as a critical factor. Naomi Partridge, Holos Co-founder says: “Functional health drinks like kombucha, prebiotic, and adaptogenic beverages are becoming increasingly popular, with 14% of respondents actively exploring these options. At Holos, we’ve seen a growing demand for beverages that not only taste great but also deliver meaningful health benefits, reflecting a shift in how people approach festive celebrations.”.
Ethical and sustainable values are also playing a significant role in shaping consumer decisions this festive season. Over half of respondents (58.7%) expressed a strong preference for brands that actively support communities and operate ethically, while 85.7% consider organic products important when making purchasing decisions. Naomi Partridge comments “We’ve been obsessed from the start with two things – crafting the perfect kombucha recipe AND creating a business that gives back. By providing work placements for individuals who have faced trauma or exploitation, and are looking for a stepping stone into work, we have a great-tasting product with meaningful purpose. It’s inspiring to see consumers value ethical businesses like ours, and we’re thrilled to play a part in this movement towards meaningful change through enterprise.”.
There’s no denying the cultural shift towards healthier and non-alcoholic drinks, with 87% of respondents agreeing that these beverages can be just as fun and festive as their alcoholic counterparts. As celebrations evolve to reflect this new mindset, consumers are proving that health-conscious choices don’t mean sacrificing enjoyment. The rise of non-alcoholic and functional beverages is transforming the way we celebrate, offering new possibilities for memorable, guilt-free festivities.
Holos Kombucha is excited to lead this movement with a range of ethical and health-focused beverages that embody the spirit of mindful celebrations. You can discover more at www.holoskombucha.com.
