Giant Digital’s Director of Product & Innovation, Alex McGibbon, has earned a coveted spot on the BIMA 100 list, which acknowledges the most influential individuals in the digital and tech industry in the UK. Powered by the British Interactive Media Association, the annual BIMA 100 celebrates leaders, pioneers, entrepreneurs, and changemakers who are making a significant impact in the digital realm.

Alex McGibbon, with over 15 years of experience in user-led design, is a passionate advocate for creating an inclusive and accessible digital world. In his role at Giant Digital, which has been providing web development and digital solutions to third sector organizations for over a decade, he oversees the research, design, tailored strategies, and development of innovative digital solutions for charities, ensuring that user needs are at the forefront.

One notable achievement during Alex’s tenure at Giant Digital was spearheading the development of the company’s bespoke charity donation platform, which has facilitated over £3 million in donations for various charitable clients. Additionally, Alex collaborated with Help for Heroes in the past year to identify areas for improvement in their beneficiary support digital strategy. Through his hard work and dedication, the platform implemented a support mechanism that received over 7,000 unique visits within the first six months, with 70% of visitors seeking further information and 21% actively requesting the charity’s assistance.

Alex’s commitment to making a positive impact extends beyond his professional life. He is an active member of the gaming community and serves as a part-time Puppy Raiser for Guide Dogs UK. Recognizing the potential for charities to engage with gamers and fundraise through live streaming platforms, Alex developed a guide and package to help non-profits embrace this new channel of fundraising. Currently, he collaborates with Guide Dogs UK, Just a Drop, and St John’s Ambulance Wales to support their gaming for good initiatives.

Expressing his gratitude for being included in the esteemed BIMA 100 list, Alex shared, “I am incredibly honored to be recognized as part of the prestigious BIMA 100. It is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team at Giant Digital, as well as our commitment to driving positive change in the third sector. I am grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to make a difference and excited to see what the future holds.”

Co-Founder of Giant Digital, Vimal Patel, commended Alex’s achievement, stating, “We are immensely proud of Alex’s outstanding achievement and recognition as part of the esteemed BIMA 100. His dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to creating innovative digital strategies for our clients have been instrumental in our success as a company. Alex’s passion for user-led design and his relentless pursuit of excellence have had a profound impact on our clients and the communities they serve. We are privileged to have him as a key member of our team, and this well-deserved recognition is a testament to his exceptional talents.”
