Ecommpay Charity Auction Raises Over €7,200 for Street Child Education Efforts

Ecommpay has successfully exceeded its fundraising goal, collecting more than €7,200 through its annual Charity Auction to support Street Child, an organisation dedicated to aiding children in vulnerable communities worldwide.

The event, driven entirely by Ecommpay employees from various global offices, highlighted the diverse talents and interests of staff members. Auction items ranged widely, including handmade jewellery, art pieces, wellness sessions, and educational experiences.

Among the most notable contributions was a hiking experience with Ecommpay CEO Aleex Sjarki, which was purchased by the HR team for €250. Consultations proved particularly popular, with a Public Speaking Masterclass fetching €80. The auction, held just before Christmas 2025, generated €2,405 in bids, setting a new internal record and surpassing the previous year’s total.

Thanks to additional support from the company and a generous personal donation from Aleex, the total amount raised was tripled to €7,215. All proceeds will be directed to Street Child’s initiatives.

Street Child operates in over 20 of the world’s poorest and most disaster-affected countries, including Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Somalia. The organisation tackles barriers that prevent children from accessing education and safety by providing emergency aid, mental health support, school construction, teacher training, family reunification, livelihood development, and assistance for out-of-school children.

The donation from Ecommpay was made as part of Street Child’s Education Interrupted campaign, during which contributions were matched pound-for-pound, effectively doubling the impact of each gift.

A spokesperson for Street Child commented: “Ecommpay’s donation will make a real difference to children whose education is being interrupted by recent cuts to global aid. A 25% drop in education funding could push an additional 6 million children out of school, with these cuts landing on vulnerable children already living through profound disruptions including conflict and climate disasters.

“Through Street Child’s Education Interrupted campaign, where every donation is generously match-funded, Ecommpay’s support will help protect children’s right to education — keeping classrooms open, teachers paid, and children learning.”

Miranda McLean, Chief Marketing Officer at Ecommpay, said: “Our annual Charity Auction is a clear demonstration of our ‘Ecommpay for Good’ mission – making sure the digital economy works better for everyone. Reflecting who we are as a company – creative, generous and community-minded – our colleagues brought forward their skills, passions and time to support a cause that deeply resonates with us. Seeing our teams across offices come together, contribute so openly and help raise a record amount this year has been truly inspiring. We are incredibly proud to support Street Child’s vital work and to help ensure more children can continue their education during such a critical time.”
