Elixmail Unveils AI-Enhanced Email Platform to Save French Professionals Two Hours Daily
French startup Elixmail has introduced an AI-powered email platform aimed at reducing the time professionals spend managing their inboxes by up to two hours each day. The company highlights that the average French worker spends 2 hours and 18 minutes daily on email, checking it 74 times, which accumulates to a decade over a 40-year career.
The platform addresses the growing issue of email overload, which has transformed from a productivity tool into a source of constant distraction. Notifications late at night, compulsive inbox checking, and thousands of unread messages contribute to a significant mental burden. Existing dominant email services like Gmail and Outlook are not optimised for modern workflows, and US-based AI solutions raise concerns over data privacy and sovereignty for European businesses.
Elixmail’s solution is an AI-augmented inbox that prioritises user control and is fully hosted within Europe. It consolidates Gmail and up to 20 IMAP accounts into a single interface, featuring AI-assisted email summaries, multi-tone draft creation, smart categorisation, and translation capabilities across 11 languages. Additionally, the platform includes a native Voice-Mail module that supports dictation, voice commands, and transcription of audio messages.
For sales teams, Elixmail offers real-time open tracking and intelligent follow-ups to enhance performance. An integrated CRM provides next-best-action recommendations to streamline workflow. Security remains a core focus, with AES-256 encryption applied both at rest and in transit, compliance with GDPR and CAN-SPAM regulations, OAuth 2.0 authentication, and European hosting.
Unlike competitors such as Superhuman or Shortwave, Elixmail deliberately avoids AI that replies autonomously on behalf of users. Instead, the AI provides suggestions while leaving the final decision and control to the user. The company reports that this approach results in users saving approximately two hours per day, effectively freeing up an entire morning each week.
“We did not want to replace the user. We wanted to give them their time back,” the Elixmail team stated. “Elixmail does not reply for you. It removes friction so you handle in 15 minutes what used to take an hour. And the whole thing stays hosted in Europe, encrypted, GDPR-compliant. This is the first time a tool at this level has been designed for French entrepreneurs without compromising on data sovereignty.”
Elixmail’s pricing is tailored for freelancers and small to medium-sized businesses. The Solo plan costs 9 euros per month for one user and one mailbox. The Pro plan, priced at 19 euros per month, supports one user with three mailboxes and is the most popular option. The Business plan at 45 euros per month accommodates five users and ten mailboxes. All plans include the Voice-Mail feature, AES-256 encryption, and a free trial that does not require a credit card.
The platform targets freelancers, consultants, sales professionals, SMB executives, and agencies—anyone spending more than an hour daily on email who wishes to maintain control over their data without relying on large US-based platforms.
Elixmail is currently available at elixmail.fr, offering an immediate free trial with no credit card needed.
