Cumbria-Based Playdale Playgrounds Secures FSC® Chain of Custody Certification
Playdale Playgrounds, a prominent manufacturer of children’s outdoor play equipment based in Cumbria, has attained the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) Chain of Custody Certification, marking a key advancement in its sustainability efforts.
The FSC® certification is internationally recognised as a leading environmental standard for timber and forest-derived products. It independently verifies that timber used can be tracked through every stage of the supply chain, ensuring materials come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits while safeguarding forests for future generations.
Playdale’s achievement of FSC® Chain of Custody Certification (FSC® C227343) reflects the company’s dedication to responsible sourcing and environmental care. This certification follows a stringent independent audit and assures customers that FSC® Certified products are supported by a transparent and fully traceable supply chain.
With sustainability increasingly influencing procurement decisions among schools, local authorities, housing developers, and community groups, the certification enhances customers’ ability to select environmentally responsible playground solutions that align with sustainable procurement goals.
Barry Leahey MBE, President of Playdale Playgrounds, commented: “Achieving FSC® Chain of Custody Certification is a significant achievement for Playdale and an important milestone in our sustainability journey. The certification demonstrates our commitment to responsible sourcing and provides our customers with confidence that FSC® Certified products are supported by a transparent, independently verified supply chain. We’re incredibly proud to commit to protecting natural resources while delivering high-quality playground equipment for future generations.”
Manufactured and designed in Cumbria, Playdale exports its playground equipment to over 50 countries worldwide. The company continues to invest in sustainable manufacturing practices while developing innovative products that promote active outdoor play and contribute to healthier communities.
