ZEEKR Teams Up with Qover to Cover Drivers in the Netherlands

ZEEKR, the global luxury electric vehicle brand from China’s Geely Holding Group, has selected the insurtech company Qover to provide customized insurance policies for its private and fleet customers in the Netherlands.

The partnership will offer ZEEKR owners three tailored insurance packages – Essential, Advanced and Ultimate – providing varying levels of protection and coverage. All policies will include battery and charging cable coverage, addressing common concerns over protecting these high-value EV components.

“We want to make every part of owning a ZEEKR as seamless as possible, and that includes taking care of insurance needs,” said Stephen Dorman, Head of Customer Care at ZEEKR Europe. “Partnering with Qover allows us to provide the excellent customer service and simple insurance choices that our customers expect.”

Qover, which is headquartered in Belgium, will leverage its digital-first insurance platform to provide a streamlined customer experience across the continent as ZEEKR expands its European presence.

“We’re dedicated to supporting ZEEKR’s growth in Europe by removing the fragmentation and complexity often found in traditional insurance programs,” said Quentin Colmant, CEO and Co-Founder of Qover.

Policies will be underwritten by Helvetia International Automotive, part of the Swiss-based Helvetia Group. ZEEKR launched sales in Europe last year, starting with the Netherlands, Norway and Denmark.

The company has seen rapid growth since delivering its first vehicles in October 2021, selling over 180,000 cars globally to date. Models currently offered include the ZEEKR 001 sedan, 009 MPV and X crossover.

ZEEKR was established in 2021 as a standalone brand to house Geely’s growing electric vehicle operations. It aims to leverage parent company Geely’s engineering and design resources to create a fully integrated electric vehicle ecosystem.

The brand operates R&D facilities in China, Sweden and other regions, collaborating with universities and startups on technologies like vehicle architectures, powertrains, autonomous driving and more.

ZEEKR’s Global Design Center in Gothenburg, Sweden boasts an open office layout to encourage collaboration between teams working on areas including exterior design, user experience and digital modeling.

The company has ambitious plans to expand to other European countries, the Middle East and Asia within the next five years to meet rapidly rising global demand for electric vehicles. ZEEKR’s partnership with Qover aims to ensure that insurance keeps pace with its accelerating growth.
