Vibrant Designs from Studio Madelen Möllard Capture Formex’s Top Prize
Ms. Möllard, who launched her interior design brand Studio Madelen Möllard just last fall, was selected for the top prize out of emerging local and international designers featured at Sweden’s largest international design fair.
“It’s an incredible feeling to finally share the experience of my design with others,” said Ms. Möllard in an interview. “I hope that my work can inspire people to fully express their passion for interior design. It’s a great honor receiving the ‘Best in Show’ award here at Formex.”
The award motivation praised Ms. Möllard for “drawing inspiration from the summer beauty of nature” and “weaving together outdoor and indoor elements into a three-dimensional experience.” The citation went on to commend her “keen eye for design” that resulted in “practical products with soft values that evoke blossoming feelings.”
This marks the fifth time that Formex Design Talents has granted a “Best in Show” award, which aims to recognize breakout talent in the interior design industry. Formex provides a crucial platform for up-and-coming designers to showcase their work to buyers, manufacturers, and media.
Ms. Möllard’s award-winning collection reflects her background as an artist and illustrator known for bold, vibrant paintings. She has long wanted to translate her signature artistic style into three-dimensional home goods.
The Studio Madelen Möllard brand launched in Fall 2023 with a mission to share optimism and playfulness through an eclectic, colorful approach to design, art, and decor. Quality and environmental sustainability are also core values underlying the manufacturing process. All products are made in Sweden, close to Ms. Möllard’s studios in Stockholm and her hometown of Karlshamn.
